BMW X3 also had enough power punch to interest the sport enthusiasts who were looking for a powerhouse off-road vehicle to tackle the hilly tracks seamlessly.

Initially, the X3 was introduced with mediocre looks, but no sooner did the designers revamp its looks to bring it to the standards of high end SUVs.

First Generation (2003-2005)

The BMW X3 was unveiled during 2003, and the xDrive was one of the most impressive features of this new launch, which could intervene with the driver when things go wrong without driver’s knowledge, take charge of the driving mechanism and provide enough valuable time to the driver to figure out the instability and its cause.

The xDrive was then soon introduced in the X5 model, and became a huge success in the market.

2005 Model Year Changes

There were several changes made during the 2005 model year. As a part of premium package, the Bluetooth could now be ordered directly, without dealer intervention, and the 2005 X3 cars had a slightly softer suspension.

Interiors were improved with leather ordered carpeting and consistent plastic panels, while the front fenders were offered as a single piece. The 2.0d engine was also introduced in the line-up too.

Revised BMW X3 (2006-Current)

The first generation models were revisited and revamped during 2006. They were given thorough upgrades in terms of engine, exterior body styling as well as performance.

With N52 inline 6 cylinder engine, X-drive update, and suspension adjustments, the revised BMW X3 range was marketed across European, Australian, Asian and North American markets. They were even offered in 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines too.

The latest X3 model comes with ample safety features, plenty of luxury options, choice of petrol, diesel and gasoline engine across the global markets and much more.

BMW X3 Cross Country

The X3 Cross Country, (alternatively famous as the X3 CC) is an exclusive sporty version of the X3 designed for rally raid competition, featuring 2.9 liter inline-6 twin turbocharged diesel engine.
